Mariners Landing Auction Stimulates Lake Economy
The Saturday, April 12th auction at Mariners Landing Resort Community and Conference Center was a first for Smith Mountain Lake. The event was the first “proactive” sale of multiple properties in the area and it enjoyed an excellent turnout from the community as well as the resulting sale of 24 properties; a mix of condos, lots, and single family homes.
Since beginning the auction process just 60 days ago, Mariners Landing has contracted over $5.6 million in property; the strongest Spring in its history. In addition, contracts are continuing to come in even after the auction. According the Matt White, President of M&J Developers, Inc., “We are very pleased with the results of the auction. Every time we contract a piece of property, that means a new owner on the Lake, potentially a new member at the golf course, new people to eat at The Pointe Restaurant, and someone else to tell their friends about Mariners Landing and Smith Mountain Lake.”
The auction was a collaborative effort between M&J Developers, Inc., Realty World Properties, TRF Auctions of Lynchburg, and Fisher Auction of Pompano Beach, Florida.
